Best Student Presentation Award

Each year at the SETAC North America annual meeting, SETAC students can apply to have their presentation entered for consideration in the Best Student Presentation competition.

Application Instructions and Eligibility Criteria

SETAC North America students can indicate their desire to participate in the competition when they submit an abstract for the SETAC North America annual meeting. To qualify for consideration, the first author of the presentation must be a current SETAC North America full student member. The presentation must be of work conducted by the author as a student, while a student. Students are eligible to compete once per each degree program.

Selection Process

The SETAC North America Awards and Fellowships Committee oversees this competition under oversight of the SETAC North America Board of Directors. Abstracts are reviewed and given a score based on set criteria (abstract rubric). Top scoring abstracts, for each degree level, get accepted into the competition. Authors will need to register early to confirm participation. The committee will then assign each presentation three judges who will view the presentation at the meeting and score the presentation considering various aspects (presentation rubric). Winners per degree program are announced as soon as judging is complete.

Award

Award winner will receive a certificate and a complimentary registration to attend the following year’s SETAC North America annual meeting.
