The SETAC Science Slam will return at the SETAC Europe 36th Annual Meeting, taking place from 17–21 May 2026 in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
The SETAC Science Slam is a high-energy event, providing students and early career researchers with the opportunity to present their science in an accessible, creative and entertaining manner. Storytelling, song, dance, skit, anything goes, as long as it brings research to life and engages the audience.
Do you enjoy a little creative competition? Can you explain your environmental research in a way that entertains as well as informs? Then the SETAC Science Slam in Maastricht is your stage to shine.
The application process is simple:
- Step 1: Sign up! Express your interest by 30 October by completing a short form with your Slam idea.
- Step 2: Submit a short video by 10 December to introduce yourself and outline your concept in more detail.
Five finalists will be selected to perform live in Maastricht, where the audience will crown the winners through voting. Cash prizes range from €100 to €500.
