Become a Vital Part of SETAC Vienna 2025: Call for Programme Committee Members

SETAC Europe is soliciting applications for the Programme Committee of the SETAC Europe 35th Annual Meeting, which will be held from 11–15 May 2025 in Vienna, Austria.

Become an integral part of the SETAC Europe 35th Annual Meeting planning process and apply by 25 March

The Programme Committee safeguards the overall scientific excellence of the annual meeting and plays a crucial role in developing the framework of the scientific programme. We aim to compose a committee with a multidisciplinary approach, a balanced representation of academia, government and business (industry/consultants) sectors, as well as include various stages of career development.

Major work areas include:

  • Defining the overarching conference theme and scope;
  • Prioritising topics and speakers for the plenary programme;
  • Reviewing session proposals and deciding on the list of topics for the call for abstracts;
  • Evaluating abstracts for oral/poster presentations on intrinsic quality and topic match;
  • Designing the session framework and daily schedule.

The expected time investment is approximately 6 days of work, including individual preparations, attending twice two half-days of virtual meetings in September and December, and following up on discussions by email.

Working in the Programme Committee allows you to shape the framework of the next annual meeting within a dynamic, international and highly motivated team of professionals and volunteers. If you have a strong affiliation with the mission of SETAC in general and the abovementioned activities in particular, don’t hesitate to grasp this opportunity.

Although we highly value the invested time and efforts of the Programme Committee, please note that the role remains a voluntary position, and does not receive any compensation. However, as a token of our gratitude, members will receive an invitation to the much-anticipated president's reception at the Annual Meeting. Serving on the Programme Committee also provides a unique experience that broadens the scope of your career as well as expands your network.

Full members of SETAC Europe can apply through the application form until 25 March. For any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
