SEECOS – The SETAC Europe–European Commission Sounding Board (formerly known as the Sounding Board for SETAC’s membership of the High Level Round Table (HLRT) for the implementation of the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability) is a science-policy bridging body that connects SETAC Europe members with the European Commission (EC). Its goal is to enhance the impact of science on environmental policy, embodying SETAC's slogan of "Environmental Quality through Science." SEECOS aims to optimise the transfer of scientific insights from SETAC members into policy, addressing the urgent triple planetary crisis (climate, pollution, and biodiversity).
SEECOS focuses on 1) outreach from SETAC to the EC and the nurturing of relationships with key EC personnel, 2) collaboration with other SETAC Europe bodies to collect scientific insights relevant to EC policy topics and 3) monitoring significant scientific and policy developments that should inform each other.
