Discover Portland’s Best Through Group Adventures
Portland, Oregon, will be vibrant with autumn colors in November; red, yellow and orange leaves will likely be enhanced with a bit of moisture that is typical that time of year.
We have arranged numerous opportunities for you to get together with your colleagues to enjoy the beauty of Portland and the surrounding area. On Sunday, we will have a tour of Multnomah Falls and Bonneville Dam and an Oregon Wine Tour. This is followed by the Opening Reception at 6:30 p.m.
Throughout the week, students and early career scientists can connect and learn at events such as the Student/Mentor Mix and Mingle, Early Career Social, Student Lunch Seminar, and Student Trivia and Mixer.
On Tuesday, all are invited to start their day with a Fun Run and end it with an after-hours adventure at the Oregon Museum of Science and Technology (OMSI).
Sign up for a parallel event when you register for the meeting. To add an event to your existing registration, follow these steps:
- Log in to your SETAC account and click View My Events.
- Click “view booking” next to the SETAC North America 46th Annual Meeting.
- Click “get more tickets” then select an available event.
In addition, we will be hosting a scientific art exhibit at the Convention Center this year. Novel Bodies will serve as a parallel visual compendium to traditional scientific posters at the annual meeting. This exhibit is being curated by Minal T. Mistry, scientist, artist and conference committee member from the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, and Patricia Watts, founder and curator of ecoartspace. Twenty visually captivating posters will be selected through a competition. Feeling artsy? Submit your artwork and information by 15 October for consideration.
The SETAC Portland Program Committee looks forward to welcoming you for a week of science and socials! Cheers!
