To support the participation of students and recent graduates at the SETAC Africa 11th Biennial conference, SETAC together with the support of its sponsors is offering several complimentary registration attendance grants.

The grant application submission module is now closed. 

The deadline to apply for a grant was 15 August. 

*Please note that number of grants to be offered will depend on the availability of funds.


Eligibility

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Have an accepted platform or poster presentation
  • Provide a valid student proof OR a copy of the degree for recent graduates (graduation no longer than 3 years ago)
  • Have a SETAC Membership (SETAC Explorer or Full Student members will be prioritised)
  • (Applicants who are living and studying in Africa will be prioritised)

Application Guidelines

Applicants must submit the following information no later than Tuesday, 15 August 2023.

  • Filled out application form (via the application portal).
  • Personal statement with clear explanation of why financial support is required and how attendance to the meeting fits within the academic goals and career plans (max 500 words)
  • A valid student proof (e.g. semester enrolment proof or statement of the supervisor. A date must be included) OR a copy of the degree for recent graduates (graduation no longer than 3 years ago)
  • supporting statement by the applicant’s research advisor (single page maximum). Please note that the applicant can choose to upload the supporting statement directly during the application process, or if the advisor should receive a separate email requesting to upload a supporting statement. The submission deadline is three days after the grant application submission deadline, if the advisor is requested to upload the letter of support.

All applicants will be informed about the outcome by Tuesday, 22 August 2023
