Save the Dates for Upcoming Latin America Chapter Meetings

SETAC Latin America is excited to support and promote upcoming meetings for the Argentinian Chapter and the Brazilian Society of Ecotoxicology (ECOTOX-BRASIL). 

The IX Congress of SETAC Argentina will be held from 21–23 October 2024 in Santa Fe, Argentina. Under the theme “Ecotoxicology and Environmental Chemistry: Challenges and Perspectives Towards Sustainable Development,” this congress will provide a platform for ecotoxicology professionals and students from Argentina and beyond to discuss current challenges and future directions in sustainable development. The goal is to improve environmental quality and protect human health by making recommendations for advancements in environmental monitoring, management, and remediation and recovery plans. The meeting will focus on local and regional issues, sharing the latest scientific and technological advancements globally. Activities are designed to engage both professionals and students, with an emphasis on encouraging the active involvement of young professionals in environmental issues from an early stage in their careers. ECOTOX-BRASIL will host the XVII Brazilian Congress of Ecotoxicology (ECOTOX 2024) from 22–25 October 2024 in Belém, Pará, Brazil. Known for its technical-scientific presentations by Brazilian and international experts, this congress fosters deep discussions on emerging topics in the field. The event provides a platform for knowledge exchange among academia, government and industry delegates. Topics of interest include water and air pollution, quality criteria for water and soil, agrochemicals, mining impacts, environmental risk assessment, and climate change. The meeting theme is “ECOTOX in the Amazon – Integrating Climate, Environment, and Society” and will precede the 2025 UN Climate Change Conference (COP30), which will take place in 2025, also in Belém.
