Mentorship Bootcamp

The SETAC Virtual Mentorship Bootcamp is a six-week program that is designed to bring together a cohort of motivated participants in a structured, short-term mentoring experience designed to spark connection, learning and growth. Mentors and mentees are thoughtfully matched based on shared interests and areas of expertise, ensuring relevant engagement. The bootcamp is grounded in the principles and best practices outlined in the SETAC Mentorship Handbook, providing structure while leaving room for meaningful, organic exchange. The program is planned to deliver a focused, high-impact mentoring experience, accommodating a maximum 20 pairs at a time.

Program Format

  • Mentor and Mentee Sign-Ups: Open for two weeks
  • Program Kickoff: A virtual SETAC information session, for registered participants, introducing the Mentorship Handbook, facilitating networking, and launching the program
  • Match Week: The organizing committee informs each mentor–mentee pair of their match via email; pairs are then expected to schedule weekly virtual meetings that best fit their own schedules
  • Bootcamp: Weeks 1–6 of the mentorship bootcamp, with a mid-point teleconference scheduled separately for mentors and mentees as a check-in
  • Bootcamp Conclusion: A virtual cohort wrap-up session focused on lessons learned, participant feedback and potential next steps
