Current Calls for Nominations

SETAC Board of Directors – Apply by 15 August

The SETAC Board of Directors (the Board) maintains oversight over the society consistent with its incorporation documents and bylaws. The Board stewards the society to advance its mission by defining policies and programs including operational functions such as membership and communications as well as SETAC programs, including journals, workshops, topical meetings and virtual events.

Five directors will complete their term on 31 December 2026, and SETAC is seeking candidates for election to the board. Board members provide strategic leadership, ensure sound governance, oversee financial stewardship, and supports the society’s continued growth and impact. Directors serve on a volunteer basis and are appointed for a three-year term starting on 1 January 2027.

SETAC Asia-Pacific Board of Directors – Apply by 18 July

The SETAC Asia-Pacific Board maintains oversight over SETAC Asia-Pacific programs, including the flagship Biennial Meeting. The Board is comprised of up to seven Elected Directors and up to two Appointed Directors, and strives for balance across sectors (academia, business, and government) and geographic diversity across the region, spanning Australasia, Japan, and the broader Asia-Pacific. Membership is refreshed annually. Terms of new council members begin in January and last for two years, renewable once. Expressions of interest in serving on the board are solicited between July and August each year.

As SETAC Asia-Pacific is entering an exciting new chapter and growing its presence across the region, the board is currently seeking passionate, driven professionals to help shape its future from the inside. All SETAC Asia-Pacific Full Professional members are warmly invited to put their names forward. For inquiries contact [email protected].

SETAC Latin America Council – Apply by 7 August

The SETAC Latin America Council (Latin America Council) supports SETAC programs in Latin America programs, including the flagship program - the biennial meeting.

Membership in the Latin America Council is refreshed annually to strive for balance in expertise, backgrounds, and sectors (academia, business and government). Terms of new council members begin in January and last for three years, renewable once. Expressions of interest in serving on the council are solicited between July and August each year.

At this time, the council is looking for nominees especially from government. Candidates must live and work in Latin America and have been SETAC full members for at least 2 years at the time of application. For inquiries contact [email protected].

SETAC North America Board of Directors – Apply by 7 August

The SETAC North America Board of Directors (North America Board) maintains oversight over the society consistent with its incorporation documents and bylaws. The North America Board stewards the society to advance its mission through SETAC North America programs, including the flagship program - the annual meeting.

Membership in the board is refreshed annually to strive for equal representation from three sectors (academia, business and government) as well as balance in expertise and backgrounds. Terms of new board members begin in January and last for three years, renewable once. Expressions of interest in serving on the board are solicited between July and August each year.

At this time, the board is looking for nominees from business and government since academic seats are filled. The North America Student Advisory Council is also seeking a student to serve as Vice Chair who will also serve on the North America Board in subsequent year.
