wall: Dear all,
What do you think about doing a LCA of the online edition of SETAC Europe? At least of the avoided travel. I have done a similar assessment of a (conventional) ACLCA conference a couple of years ago (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11367-018-1479-z).
I would just need a list of addresses of attendees that want to participate. From there, calculating the travel distance is quite straight forward, and there are good LCA inventories of air travel (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.trd.2017.10.017)
. It would be fair to assume those outside Ireland would have come by plain. A personalised result could be sent to attendees willing to participate, and the aggregated results could be published e.g. in the SETAC journal. It would send a positive note to participants and it contribute to a discussion people care about.
