Call for abstracts for a Special Outreach Session in Vancouver due 30 May
Thursday, April 17, 2014
Many basic science principles, including those important to environmental science, can be demonstrated rather simply. In this special session, participants will engage in hands-on activities and discussions about outreach activities to share with local schools, clubs and communities.
If you have an outreach activity related to environmental science that you would like to share at the SETAC North America 35th Annual Meeting in Vancouver, BC, please email Anne Grappo, organizing chair,
Please articulate the following in your email:
- Targeted age of audience (Activity is appropriate for: K-5; 6-9; 10-12; college; community groups/all ages)
- Time needed for completion of activity by session participants
- Logistical needs (table space, messiness level, electrical/internet connections, etc.)
Because of the unique nature of this session, there will not be a formal call for abstracts for this session – all abstracts and information will be organized through the session chairs directly so we can make sure necessary logistics are met for all presenters (tables, connections, etc). Presentation information and a commitment to attend SETAC 2014 is due 30 May.
Please join us in sharing your expertise with your colleagues - we hope we all can learn from each other while showing the SETAC community how much fun outreach can be!
