Global Interest Groups: Indigenous Knowledge and Values
Bradley J. Moggridge
Tracey Godfery

The primary purpose of SETAC Interest Groups (IGs) is to provide a venue for scientists with an interest in a particular scientific topic to share knowledge and expertise and advance the topic. Participation in all IGs is open to all interested parties. If you are not already a member of this IG and would like to be, make sure you are signed in to your SETAC account then click "Join Group” near the top of this page.

The mission of the IG is to provide a mechanism for Indigenous and non-Indigenous people to collaborate through new research, publication of papers, mentor new members and provide a platform for Indigenous cultural knowledge input into the SETAC community. The IK&V IG aims to contribute to scientific environmental knowledge by identifying natural alignments between Indigenous and non-Indigenous knowledge systems and encourages Indigenous peoples to access high quality environmental science that informs decision-makers, inspiring more positive action and social, environmental, economic and cultural outcomes for Indigenous communities around the world.

  • Serve as a scientific forum for all stakeholders interested in the mission of the IG.
  • Sponsor events (e.g., meetings, sessions, webinars) and publications within SETAC that advance the mission of the IG.

IG operations are organized by a steering committee. Please contact the chairs of the IG if you would like to be involved.
