Members of the SETAC Sediment Advisory Group:

SETAC North America has a deadline of Wednesday February 18,2015 to submit topics for proposed sessions at the Salt Lake City meeting of SETAC North America scheduled for November 1 to 5, 2015:

As a SETAC Advisory Group, the SEDAG can sponsor at least one session for the Salt Lake meeting. At past meetings, the SEDAG has sponsored sessions dealing with PAHs in sediments and dealing with harmonization of laboratory testing methods.

We would appreciate any ideas you as a member of the SEDAG might have on potential session topics for the Salt Lake City meeting. Please provide your input to Paul Sibley (psibley@uoguelph.ca) and Chris Ingersoll (cingersoll@usgs.gov) by Wednesday February 11th.

One topic that has been proposed by Steve Bay and Lisa Taylor is a session entitled "Methods and Applications of Spiked Sediment Toxicity Tests".  A spiked sediment session would bring together papers on topics such as: spiking methods, updates on how new data affects chemical thresholds, how to use spiked sediment data in TIE and cleanup programs, and utilization of spiked sediments to investigate specific issues (e.g., influence of sediment particle size on organism response).

Information on how to sign up to the SEDAG blogs and forums are provided on the SETAC website that SEDAG can access (https://www.setac.org/forums/Posts.aspx?topic=1067866). The SEDAG blog might be a mechanism for posting ideas on session topics.

Alternatively, you can send an email to Chris Ingersoll and Paul Sibley and we will compile this input on potential session topics.
