2008 Student Corner
Hello, and welcome to the 2008 Student Corner! I would
like to remind you briefly of some important upcoming events and deadlines.
The 29th Annual SETAC North America Meeting in Tampa, Florida (November 16-20) is approaching quickly.
There are various events planned for students throughout the meeting, and it would be great to meet all of you
there. Here are some items to consider for this year’s meeting:
- Applications
for OVC SETAC student travel awards are still being accepted,
don’t forget to apply!
- Don’t forget that there will be an OVC SETAC chapter meeting at the SETAC NA
meeting in Tampa, FL (room to be announced, check the program once you get to Tampa)
- Keep in mind that OVC SETAC also offers student awards each year for
posters and presentations.
- There will be a Student Council Booth at the meeting where you can get
information on all of the student events, so be sure to stop there when you arrive.
- Be sure to check out the student lounge throughout the meeting for good
networking opportunities.
- Sunday’s Job Skills Workshop short course may be of use to those of you
approaching graduation.
- Mingle at the Student’s Career Mentor event Monday night following the
poster session.
- Following the Mentor event, come sing along at the Karaoke event with fellow OVC members!
- Check out the Informal Mixer on Wednesday evening.
