The SETAC Founders Award is the highest SETAC award and is given annually to an individual with an outstanding career in the environmental sciences. Membership in SETAC is not a prerequisite for the award. Individuals who have an acknowledged career in any aspect of the environmental sciences such as research, technical or regulatory contributions, and who have contributed to the development of our understanding of the influence of human activity on the environment, are eligible.
The award winner will be announced at the 7th SETAC World Congress/SETAC North America 37th Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL, United States. The Society will pay for the registration fees, travel and related expense for the award winner to attend a SETAC meeting of any Geographic Unit in the subsequent year. Past award winners include Charles Tyler (2015), Anne Fairbrother (2014), and Samuel Luoma (2013).
