Reviewer Rewards Program
SETAC is delighted to announce the launch of the Reviewer Rewards Program. We publish high quality research thanks to the diligence and keen eye of the journals’ editorial board members and reviewers that have helped to shape book chapters and journal articles. Reviewing manuscripts can be time consuming and there is often little tangible reward for the work. It is seen as a “pay it forward” labor, since reviewers themselves benefit from the process of peer-review when they are authors. We would like to recognize that effort by offering a points system that tracks individual contributions to the SETAC publications.
The structure is as follows:
1 point per completed review*
5 points: SETAC store products up to $50 (points are relinquished)
10 points: SETAC membership (points not relinquished); recognition by SETAC^ with photo and a professional web link
30 point: Complimentary meeting registration; recognition by SETAC with photo and a professional web link (must register during Early registration; points not relinquished)
50 points: One-time Meeting registration, one-time annual membership, a $500 travel voucher (airline or hotel gift card to offset costs, for example); recognition by SETAC with photo and a professional web link; recognition at an annual meeting.
*A completed review is one that is thorough and has been returned to the editorial office in a timely manner. The commentary to the authors should be helpful and insightful. The length of the review is not as important as the quality of the review, which will be determined by the handling editor.
^Recognition by SETAC could be through an article in the Globe, recognition on the website, or through a special article in either of the SETAC journals.
