Join HHS and help to make our world healthier, safer, and better for all Americans.This position is located at the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH), Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS), Atlanta, GA.The Division of Laboratory Sciences at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is currently seeking a laboratory research fellow (http://www.orau.gov/cdc/) to fill a 2-4 year term position in Atlanta, GA. The Division of Laboratory Sciences (www.cdc.gov/dls/) maintains a state-of-the-art laboratory facility and specializes in applying advanced analytical methods for quantifying human exposure to environmental toxicants in support of National Center for Environmental Health.This particular position involves measuring volatile organic compounds in water, human blood, urine and cigarette smoke by headspace SPME GC/MS. The candidate should hold a chemistry degree or demonstrate strong interest in bioanalytical applications. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate knowledge, skills and/or interest in mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, solid phase microextraction, handling/processing of human blood samples, data processing, and data review. We have 2 positions opening immediately and will have 2 more in the summer of 2013.

Requirements:
Degree conferred within 3 years from start date
Competitive GPA

Relocation expenses are not covered by this fellowship.
