Koch awarded SETAC / EA Engineering

The Society of Environmental
Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) has awarded Brain T.
Koch the 2004 SETAC/EA Engineering Jeff Black Award.
Koch is a graduate student
at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and has
been a graduate research assistant in the Fisheries
and Illinois Aquaculture Center for the past two years.
He will receive the award during the Fourth SETAC World
Congress and 25th Annual Meeting in North America to
be held Nov. 14-18, 2004, in Portland, Ore.
"I am very pleased
and honored to be selected as the award winner and wish
to thank SETAC North America and EA Engineering for
their contributions," says Koch, who will earn
a master's degree in zoology from Southern Illinois
University at Carbondale, with a projected spring of
2005 graduation. Along with being a member of
SETAC, Koch is a member of the American Fisheries Society.
This award is in recognition
of Jeff Black's life in science and his contributions
to SETAC. EA Engineering will contribute $1,000
to the 2004 award, which will be matched by the Society.
This award is given to a SETAC member who is a student
or entering student pursuing a master's degree in a
field of study encompassed by the Society.
