Student and Young Professionals Travel Award for Nanorisk Analysis II Workshop, September 15-16, Washington DC

Posted By Jeff A. Steevens, Tuesday, July 8, 2014

Call for Posters & Student and Young Professionals Travel Awards for Nano Risk Analysis II: A Workshop to Explore How a Multiple Models Approach Can Advance Risk Analysis of Nanoscale Materials.

 ** Deadline extended to August 1st, 2014**

September 15-16, 2014 • Washington, D.C.

Got BIG research on NANOmaterials? Come share your interesting work with experts from around the globe at the Society for Risk Analysis Nano Risk Analysis II workshop!

About the Workshop

The Nano Risk Analysis II workshop seeks to elaborate shared strengths and gaps in support of a Weight of Evidence (WOE) approach relying on Alternative Testing Strategy (ATS) to inform context–specific decisions about risk from exposure to novel nanoscale materials.  The goal is to inform the development of guidance for ATS use in overall approaches to those decisions. As such, suitable topics for poster presentations include research on high-throughput techniques, in vitro cell based and cell free assays, WOE or strength-of-evidence approaches to assessing exposure and risk, decision-analytic approaches, regulatory approaches, and challenges to applying ATS for nanoscale materials. We are open to a range of topics related to Alternative Testing Strategies, so please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about your topic.

This competition will provide several graduate students and young professionals (i.e., individuals who completed their degree within 5-years) with $500 in travel assistance to attend the Nano Risk Analysis II Workshop. Details at: http://srananoworkshop.org/travel-awards.html
