Nacci has been a dedicated SETAC member and volunteer for over 30 years – engaging in, participating in, and growing SETAC science, membership, programs and interests. She has served in leadership positions at the North Atlantic Chapter, as an editorial board member for the society journal, Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, and chaired one of the most well-attended North America annual meetings (Boston 2011). A lasting and valuable contribution to the society is her work as chair of the Awards and Fellowship committee, which drove the transition to electronic evaluations and worked to establish a sponsored student publication award recognizing high quality work in ecotoxicology and environmental chemistry.
Service to the society is the major component to the Herb Ward Exceptional Service award, but the candidate must also work to help SETAC maintain its technical and professional excellence through scientific discourse and outreach. Nacci has actively participated in the prestigious Pellston Workshops® and presented or co-authored 80 presentations at national and regional meetings. She has contributed a dozen publications in SETAC journals and four book chapters to SETAC books.
